VLASKOVO ESTATE, RUSSIA
This palatial estate was designed by Moss Creek for a “very prominent politician” (identity withheld by request) and is located in the countryside between Moscow and St Petersburg, Russia. The estate consists of three separate buildings on the shore of a lake in the middle of a 300-hectare plot of fields and forests. Although there was no “Authority Having Jurisdiction” (AHJ) or even applicable building codes for this project, we certainly did not want to displease this client! The main house is approximately 1200 square meters in size and consists of one big living room with fireplace, dining room, terrace with fireplace, two kitchens (one for the family, the other professional with separate entrance), cigar room, library room, and separate wing for the master bedroom and children’s rooms, with a few bedrooms for guests. The second building is approximately 300 square meters in size and is used primarily for a small group of guests (typically hunters). It consists of several bedrooms with bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, billiard room, sauna, and a big terrace overlooking the lake. The third building is an elaborate sauna with a separate sitting room and a deck that extends out over the lake.
